ABCs of Behavior

The ABC Model is a three-term contingency used to analyze behavior. ABC's help determine a behavior's function and maintaining factors.

Antecedent= what happens before the behavior

Behavior = what actions occur

Consequence = what happens after the behavior

In practice, the ABC Model can be a form of data collection and can help with functional behavior assessments. It is used as a guide to create effective interventions for behavior change.

Before creating the intervention plan, know your ABC's
